On 28 January, CIS organized a session to share the experiences of the four groups of local consultants hired to develop Codes of Conduct for the justice, police, prison administration and judiciary of the Somali Justice Bureau.
During the validation workshop, four working groups composed of the lead experts and key stakeholders hold consultations on the final drafts of the Codes of Conduct and their accompanying Interpretative Notes. Participants were drawn from key regional government officials and civil society stakeholders who had the opportunity to provide further inputs and validate the draft Codes and the Interpretative Notes. The Final Codes of Conduct will be handed over to the respective authorities in February and are expected to be tabled in the regional parliament during this year.
