QS World University ranking 2024 published

Share
28 June 2023
The QS World University ranking 2024 strongly highlights the international and sustainable character of VU Amsterdam's research and education.

For example, in A Better World@VU, VU students and scientists showcase sustainable projects and initiatives that contribute to a better world. The way we treat nature and the environment, for example, also affects our (mental) health. In the Medicine curriculum, a group of students under the name CO2-assistant is committed to preventing health problems by paying attention to the relationship between sustainability and health.

In this year's QS ranking, VU Amsterdam occupies a 207th position out of nearly 1,500 universities. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam positions itself most strongly on the component sustainability (position 95 globally). As in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking that was published earlier, this emphasizes the importance that VU Amsterdam attaches to sustainability and societal impact.

QS World University ranking 2023: VU research and education
The international QS World University ranking 2024 was announced today. This is an annual ranking of (international) universities, ranked among other things on the quality of higher education and scientific research within the university institution. This is assessed both quantitatively - for example, through citation impact and staff/student ratios - and qualitatively - for example, through reputation surveys among academics. The QS ranking focuses on five aspects: research and discovery (50%), employability and outcomes (20%), learning experience (10%), global engagement (15%), and sustainability (5%).

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
Since its foundation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has stood for value-driven education, research, and valorization.
