Share
IXA-GO, VU Grants Office organises in collaboration with Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) an info session focused on the collaborative grants of Horizon Europe. Topics: Climate, Energy, Food, Bio-economy, Natural resources, Environment

This session will be of interest to researchers who are already working on an application, or are considering to apply, either as coordinator or as partner, with a European consortium. Focus of this session: consortium grants and thematic EU funding programmes and RVO will provide insights in particular into the calls in pillar 2 of Horizon Europe.

We are looking forward seeing you at one, several or perhaps even all of these events!

Clusters and topics

Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy), Cluster 6 (Food, bio-economy, natural resources, environment), and Missions. More information and weblinks below.

Programme

  • RVO Speakers: Achim Eberspächer (cluster 5, missions), and Suraj Jamge (cluster 6)
  • VU guest speaker: Pierre Chopin
  • 10:00-12:00: RVO presentations on cluster 5, 6 and missions, plus laureate
  • 12:00-13:00 Networking Lunch
  • 13:00-15:00. RVO offers a flexible programma for the afternoon.
  • For researchers who would like to talk to one of the RVO representatives about their current or potential application, we can offer a slot of 10-20 minutes (sign up via: subsidiedesk@vu.nl )
  • In addition, RVO offers the option of a deep dive on topics of policy, tips/tricks, identifying topics within cluster 5 and 6, findings partners, or multi-actor approach/MMA.
  • In addition/alternatively, there is the option of an open plenary conversation/dialogue with the RVO experts about topics of your interest. This can be about finding partners, building a consortium, designing a concept application, dividing up the writing work, negotiating with consortium members, but also the actual implementation of the project, such as working together as a consortium, project management, finance, IP, impact, etc.

These meetings will be presented by the representatives (National Contact Points) of the HE Clusters and Programmes. As such this is a good opportunity to connect with them for your grant application.

We would like to remind you that if you plan to submit a Horizon Europe proposal as a coordinator, please contact IXA-GO, VU Grants Office for additional support from grant advisors, impact managers and business developers: subsidiedesk@vu.nl

Horizon Europe – Cluster 5: Climate, Energy & Mobility

Cluster 5 focuses on achieving climate neutrality by accelerating clean energy, sustainable transport, and climate‑resilient systems. It supports research on climate science, energy supply, energy efficiency, smart mobility, and cross‑sectoral climate solutions like hydrogen and batteries. The cluster aims to decarbonize all major sectors while ensuring competitiveness and social fairness. It promotes integrated solutions in cities, industry, buildings, and transport. Ultimately, it contributes to the EU Green Deal and a climate‑neutral future.

Horizon Europe – Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture & Environment

Cluster 6 aims to halt biodiversity loss, reduce environmental degradation, and enable sustainable use of natural resources on land and sea. It funds research on food systems, agriculture, forestry, oceans, circular economy and bio‑based innovation. The cluster promotes resilience, environmental monitoring, and transitions towards sustainable, healthy, and inclusive food systems. It directly supports EU strategies such as the Green Deal, Biodiversity Strategy, and Farm‑to‑Fork. Overall, it drives systemic change for sustainability in rural and urban environments.
