On May 13th, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam will host Prof. Areej Sabbagh-Khoury for a presentation that draws upon her book Colonizing Palestine: the Zionist Left and the making of the Palestinian Nakba.
Sabbagh-Khoury is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her research focuses on political and historical sociology, particularly in relation to colonialism, Indigenous studies, and memory.
The event, which is co-organised by the Departments of Political Science and Public Administration, and Social and Cultural Anthropology, will take place at the VU 3D Centre from 15.00 to 16.30. Following a presentation from Prof. Sabbagh-Khoury, there will be a question & answer session with the audience. Attendance is open to all VU Amsterdam students and staff.
