On May 13th, the Vri je Universiteit Amsterdam will host Prof. Areej Sabbagh-Khoury for a presentation that draws upon her book Colonizing Pales tine: the Zionist Left and the making of the Palestinian Nakba.
Sabbagh-Khoury is an Associate Professor in the Department of S ociology at the University of California, Berkeley and a Senior Lec turer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew U niversity of Jerusalem. Her research focuses on political and histori cal sociology, particularly in relation to colonialism, Indigenous st udies, and memory.
The event, which is co-organised by the Depa rtments of Political Science and Public Administration, and Social an d Cultural Anthropology, will take place at the VU 3D Centre from 15. 00 to 16.30. Following a presentation from Prof. Sabbagh-Khoury, ther e will be a question & answer session with the audience. Attendan ce is open to all VU Amsterdam students and staff.
