As educators, we strive to connect academic learning with real-world challenges. Sustainability in Community Service Learning (CSL) offers a powerful way to bridge education and societal needs, empowering students to co-create solutions alongside communities.
In this special International Learning Lab, we welcome guest speakers and participants from across the globe—including France, Spain, Italy, Iceland, Canada, the US, Benin, Ghana, Tanzania, and Kenya—to exchange insights on embedding sustainability into CSL. Through inspiring talks and interactive discussions, we’ll explore practical approaches to integrating sustainability into education while strengthening community-university partnerships.
This Learning Lab is part of VU Amsterdam’s Open Science Week (June 16-20, 2025), an annual event promoting knowledge-sharing and collaboration in research and education. Whether you’re new to CSL or looking to deepen your understanding of sustainability in higher education, this session will offer fresh perspectives and actionable strategies.
Aurora University members can join this event online. Details will be provided in a follow-up e-mail.
This workshop has limited capacity. Please sign up no later than Friday the 13th of June.
