Marking deadlines
There are two moments at which the course coordinator/examiner enters the final results via VU result registration:
- After the final examination:
a. At the latest 10 working days after the end of the final examination.
b. In the case of a different examination method: at the latest 10 working days after the Friday of the examination week of the period in question*. - After the resit:
a. At the latest 10 working after the end of the resit.
b. In the case of a different examination method: at the latest 10 working days after the Friday of the resit week of the period in question.
*The examination and resit weeks are set out in the annual calendar. The annual year schedule (in the study guide of each programme) states the periods in which courses are taught.
Information on assessment of examinations can be found in the Rules and Guidelines of the Examination Board.
Procedure
One week afther the examination week the Education Office sends a reminder to all examiners. Should a examiner foresee that he/she will not meet the deadline, he/she can ask the Programme director or programme coordinator to submit a request for extension, accompanied by statement of reasons, to onderwijscoordinator.fsw@vu.nl.
In view of the importance of punctual result registration, the Education Office monitors the registration of grades and the corresponding reporting on behalf of the Faculty Board.
If a course is concluded with written work (such as assignments, papers, reports, reviews), the same annual calendar applies as for written examinations: the first opportunity is in the final week of the period and the resit in the resits week of the period in question. At FSW we observe these periods; lecturers cannot themselves determine alternative submission times.
Should a grade be revised following inspection of the examination, send this to cijfers.fsw@vu.nl.
Period of validity
The period of validity of the final marks is determined in the Academic and Examination Regulations of each Bachelor's and Master's programme.
