Renewed SBE Career Path Academic Staff
In 2025, the promotion policy has been completely revised and brought fully into line with the principles of ‘Recognition and Rewards’.
Career Profiles within the Promotion Policy
In line with the principles of Recognition and Rewards, the updated promotion policy allows academic staff to develop within distinct career profiles. Candidates applying for promotion to Associate Professor 2 (UHD2) or higher may choose from four profiles: research, education, impact, or a profile that combines these domains.
This flexibility enables alignment between individual strengths and the strategic needs of the department.
A balanced composition of teams and departments is essential. Teams benefit from the diverse strengths of individual members, which enhances team diversity and effectiveness. Strategic personnel planning (SPP) is used to align departmental strategies with the existing and required competencies within the team.

Profiles and promotion forms
Below is a detailed explanation of the profiles. In addition to the chosen profile, contributions to leadership, management, and administrative responsibilities are also expected. Each promotion proposal must clearly specify the selected profile. This approach supports a transparent and balanced system that values both individual achievements and collective contributions.
