Take-off
Valuable research results sometimes threaten to go unused because knowledge and innovations must endure a difficult path to the market. Financing is needed to bridge the divide between the research and the market. The program Take-off bridges this funding gap in the early phase of an undertaking.
Take-off consists of two components:
- Feasibility studies (phase 1) – maximum length: 6 months
- Early stage routes (phase 2) – maximum length: 24 months

Demonstrator
This program provides funding to further develop knowledge into a product or service at the level of a ‘Minimal Viable Product’, or a minimal functional basic version of the knowledge with a Technology Readiness Level of 4 (TRL 4: "technology validated in the lab"). In addition, the demonstration model must be validated with relevant stakeholders, at the level of SRL 4 (Societal Readiness Level 4).

ERC - Proof of Concept (only for ERC laureates)
This grant is for researchers who already received an ERC grant for their frontier research project and now want to explore the commercial or societal potential of their work.
