Will you be working with chemicals in your research? When using chemical substances, the laws and regulations of the Working Conditions Act (Arbeidsomstandighedenwet in Dutch) apply.
This Act contains rules for employers and employees to promote the health, safety and well-being of employees.
The Working Conditions Act states that employers and employees must work together to improve working conditions. The employer is ultimately responsible, but the employee also has the obligation to observe their own health and safety, for example by using protective equipment correctly.
