Introduction to Programming in Python

Programming in Python - Beginner Level

Entry Requirements

Additional requirements:

Students are expected to follow an online introductory course in Python programming before attending the winter school. This online course is for free but please note that this is not the official winter school course, but an additional course you need to complete before starting the winter course 'Introduction to Programming'. It will take between 2 to 3 days but can be done at the student’s leisure. It is important that participating students complete the online course because the winter school course builds on it. Details about this course will be sent out in December.

Who can join?

This course is suitable for anybody with an interest in learning to program a computer using Python. Master's students and PhD candidates of diverse backgrounds (natural or social sciences, humanities) can benefit from this course. The course is practical, not theoretical.

However, programming is a form of problem-solving that requires structured, logical thought. This is a challenging course that requires intellectual investment. If you are not sure if this is the right course for you, or if you have doubts about your eligibility please contact graduatewinterschool@vu.nl
