Philanthropy at VU Amsterdam is a Dutch-language postgraduate programme for mid-career and senior professionals who want to gain a deeper understanding of why people and organisations give, how philanthropy works in practice, and how to engage with it more effectively in their work.
Across five modules, each consisting of two sessions, academic and experienced professionals connect the latest insights with everyday practice. You can take a single module, several modules, or complete the full programme – and complete each module with a module certificate. If you successfully complete all five modules, you will receive the final diploma.
You will explore current developments such as AI, impact measurement and emerging forms of giving. The small-scale format and interaction with fellow participants also provide valuable opportunities to learn from each other's experiences and professional challenges.
