Scholarships for incoming Bachelor's students

Aon Risk Management Scholarship

Are you a non-Dutch student and writing your thesis in the academic year 2024/2025? Is your subject related to Risk Management? Then you can apply for the Aon Scholarship!

Aon, together with Nuffic, developed the Aon Scholarship of €6,000 for non-Dutch students who are talented and motivated to contribute to society and maybe, most importantly, are also helped by this financial incentive. The deadline to apply is 1 May 2024.

Target group

• Study programme: Risk management
• Level: 
  • Second-year Master's student in a 2-year programme (first year completed)
  • Third-year Bachelor's student in a 3-year programme (first and second year completed)
• International student, both EU/EEA or non-EU/EEA

Application

Please send an email to scholarships.incoming@vu.nl, and make sure to add the required documents to your application. 

Required documents

• Copy paspoort / ID
• Diploma or study transcript of your previous and current higher education
• CV and motivation letter (combined in one PDF) which should include:
  • Motivation for the selected Bachelor's or Master's programme and Dutch institution
  • In case the scholarship is for a research project: description and motivation for the (research) project
  • Explanation of the need for a scholarship / financial support, 
• Reference letters (combined in one PDF): The reference providers must be current or previous professors or study supervisor. If the scholarship is for a (research) project, include a reference from the supervisor describing the relevance of your (research) project. One of these two reference letters should address the candidate's need for financial support.
• Proof of registration / admission at your institution for the academic year 2024-2025 -> Please send this as soon as possible after you resubmitted your application.

Timeline

1. Application deadline: 1 May 2024
2. Nomination of candidates by VU Amsterdam: 1-15 May 2024
3. Nominated student need to apply via Delta. Nominated students will receive a link
4. Selection procedure by Nuffic and Aon: May / June 2024
5. Selected kandidates will be informed: End of June 2024
