AUBE - Adaptation of Urban Building Envelopes

This consortium aims to advance knowledge and improve governance of blue-green building envelopes (BGBEs), or roofs and facades that integrate water and vegetation into their structure.

BGBEs have multiple potential benefits such as reducing heat stress and increasing biodiversity. However, to achieve these benefits we need a large-scale and systemic uptake of socially and environmentally effective BGBEs. AUBE therefore aims to influence the uptake of BGBEs with just and sustainable outcomes. Currently, AUBE meets at least every week to acquire funding for its ambitions.

Our partners are Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), University of Twente, Virtech OOD, University of Graz, Institute of Mechanics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finnish Meteorological Institute, University of Turin, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Circularise, Universitet po Architektura Stroitelstvo i Geodezija, Assotsiatsia Za Razvitie Na Sofia, Mister Green and University of Tampere.

Moreover, our associated partners are Zuyd Hogeschool, Forge Reply, Omtre AS, Synesthesia, Comune Di Torino, White Arkitekter, Stichting iCircl and Gemeente Enschede.
