Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and the University of Amsterdam (UvA) maintain a close partnership in education and research.
The two Amsterdam universities have a joint Faculty of Dentistry (ACTA), jointly run Amsterdam University College, and have joined forces in the Amsterdam University Medical Centres (UMC). We pull together if it means adding greater value to education and research, for instance, to keep study programmes small-scale or start new ones, to improve quality or to offer more facilities. We also come together to facilitate entering into partnerships with Dutch and international companies, local or regional governments, international research institutes and foundations, and other institutions of higher education.
