PhD candidates of the Graduate School of Social Sciences pay tuition fees according to their VSNU type and their source of funding.
The current PhD tuition fee policy is outlined in the document VU-GSSS Tuition fee and other costs to conduct PhD research.
Starting on 1 January 2026, in view of the new VU guidelines for PhD fees, this policy will be replaced by a new one. This document will be uploaded here in due course. In the meantime, please contact us (graduate.school.ssw@vu.nl) for more information.
