Sustainability in education

VU Amsterdam aims to create educators with sustainability as a top focus so that our students become responsible citizens who care for the planet and society.

Sustainability Office VU is working on sustainable education. Read more about the projects that we are currently working on below.

Projects:

  • Toolkit for teachers

    We are working on a toolkit for teachers to help them make sustainability part of their lessons. 

  • Sustainability course for teachers

    A pilot course entitled 'Educational Leadership for Climate Crisis' has been done. This teacher-centred course aims to equip lecturers at VU with the knowledge and skills to lead their students to address the climate crisis.

  • Sustainability Course Inventory

    The Sustainability Course Inventory has been automated, with SDG icons placed on the study guide.  Its purpose is to make students and lecturers more aware of the sustainability content of various courses at VU.
