Jan Robert Leegte, Drawing of a Button, 2020

Drawing of a Button consists of a drawing depicting an interface element reminiscent of the interface style of the late nineties, in which chiaroscuro was used to render a sense of materiality.

Considering drawing as a performative act, Leegte intends this drawing as an attempt to materialise the moment of human interaction with the computer. Therefore, the drawing depicts the opaque membrane dividing the offline and the online realms.
