As PhD council, we strive to improve the position of PhD-candidates within the Department of Computer Science. By serving as a bridge between students and the department and actively advocating for our needs and concerns, we ensure all PhD candidates are heard. In the past, we have had initiatives such as raising awareness about critical issues by conducting surveys to assess and address mental health challenges among PhD students and actively shaping policies to improve support structures. Through regular communication, both internally and with faculty members, the council ensures that students are informed about regulations, rights, and opportunities, while also fostering a sense of community through social interactions and events and providing a first point of contact for any questions you as a PhD candidate might have.
