ALP Support for programmes

The ALP’s most significant contribution to supporting students' academic communication skills is within, and in collaboration with, degree programmes: many degree programmes include an ALP course or module as part of their curriculum. We also offer advice to degree programmes on developing learning trajectories specifically aimed at writing skills or more generally at academic communication skills.

Modules in Academic Dutch or English
ALP staff also provide modules in Academic English and Academic Dutch for degree programmes, in various formats, woven into the curriculum of the study programme. See ALP contributions to degree programmes for more information and examples of ALP contributions to Bachelor’s, Master's and pre-Master's programmes.

ALP Advice about learning trajectories
For degree programmes and faculties, the ALP offers advice on setting up successful learning trajectories in language and communication skills. The starting point in this is the existing structure and aims of the degree programme.

ALP Advice about implementation of language policy
Good communication in Dutch and English is essential on a bilingual campus. But in many organizational decisions, such as the language of instruction or bilingual business operations, there are unexpected obstacles, often with a linguistic character. The ALP can provide expert advice in various areas with the aim of supporting the implementation of the language policy.
