Amsterdam AI is a collaboration between government, academic, medical and other organisations in Amsterdam to help the city develop and deploy responsible technology in AI. Projects focus on strengthening the AI ecosystem and work on AI solutions in three domains: business innovation, citizen support and health. Artificial Intelligence at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has always originally been interdisciplinary, human- and society-oriented, resulting in a leading position in this field.
The human-centred AI bachelor's programme of has been in the top 10 ICT programmes with the highest percentage of female students for years. The new VU Campus Center for AI & Health is part of one of the leading Human Health and Life Science campuses in the country. Our revolutionary research results, such as robots that produce offspring according to evolutionary principles, is breaking news worldwide, and we are currently leading 2 Gravity Grant research consortia where AI plays a key role: Hybrid Intelligence, on building the next generation of AI; and Stress in Action, exploring new methods for measuring and reducing stress in everyday life.
