Testimonials

These testimonials are written by VU students who attended 3D events.

๐Ÿ˜Š A way to meet new people from different academic background and doing fun activities

๐Ÿ˜Š At 3D, you never stop getting to know new people. For every event, new people will show up as well as people you already know. The group always feels very safe and open, everyone is different but that's what makes it so fun. Some of the people you may never talk to again, but with some of them it just clicks and you will go on lots of adventures with them.

๐Ÿ˜Š I met my now gf in the 3d so, yeah it made Life here way more fun

๐Ÿ˜Š I didn't really see anyone outside of school post corona. I was always shy but when I finally got the guts to meet people, the world was shut down. 3D enabled me to get to know people in a low-threshold way, people whom I have spoken to at least weekly since then. I know from others, for example foreign students (the group is always very diverse, super fun), that for them it has really been a stepping stone to a social life. I want that for everyone!

๐Ÿ˜Š Through the 3D group and their events I've met and befriended many people with who'm I make memories together that last for a lifetime

๐Ÿ˜Š Why come to the 3D events:

  • Meet amazing people
  • Diverse activities (for everyone there will be something you like)
  • No paid membership
  • No need to travel because often at campus
  • Snacks
  • The door is open for everyone at VU

๐Ÿ˜Š Life is better in 3D has been a place for me to find and learn from other people. People that I normally would not approach when I would see them at the campus square because they did not fit in my friend group. I always loved meeting new people but it never became actual friendships. Now I got introduced to so many new people, whom some I can call my friends, with all their unique characters and kind personalities. Everything is so lowkey and everyone is nice to each other. The vibe is always just having fun, having laughs, getting to know each other and appreciating what we share at that moment. I also donโ€™t feel pressured to make friends per se, rather just having fun with other people does it for me. I love it.

๐Ÿ˜Š A safe space to share my passion for music

๐Ÿ˜Š I think it is a really nice place. There are many different activities so there is for everyone something that he/she likes. I started going to 3d because I found it difficult to connect with my classmates bit still wanted to do things in Amsterdam. I went to play games and I immediately loved it. Later I invited some of my classmates to come to the plant workshop. Even if you go to 3d alone the people are really open and you donโ€™t feel left out. I think this is the greatest strength of 3d.

๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you for these great months! I had a so much fun!

๐Ÿ˜Š Arriving in Amsterdam during my 2nd year, during covid lockdown, not having any intro activities, it was really great to socialize (especially after a time of uni at home)

๐Ÿ˜Š With the ingredients of fun activities, snacks and amazing people it is the place for everyone

๐Ÿ˜Š Well life is better in 3D is a lot of things but most importantly it is a place of refuge. When you feel lonely and find it hard to connect with people or make friends, thatโ€™s where you go to. What sets it apart from other events is that it doesnโ€™t revolve around alcohol. Here you donโ€™t need to feel pressured to fit in, because you will find your own people. You donโ€™t need alcohol to give you the courage to talk, because we will break the ice for you. If you want to drink you can, but you are never forced to. Itโ€™s a place where you can be yourself and not be judged. And if you join once, you will keep coming back, because it becomes your community.
