The John Stuart Mill College is housed on the 4th floor of the main building of VU Amsterdam – close to important facilities such as the central library and the three founding faculties.
The college has been designed to provide both a pleasant and useful space for the PPE community, where students and staff can work, learn and socialize. It consists of different parts:
- The classrooms, where the lectures and seminars take place. When no lectures or seminars are scheduled, these spaces can be used by members of the JSM community for other purposes. For example, by committees of the study association to organize a meeting.
- The student lounge & coffee area where students can meet each other in an informal setting. The lounge is also used to organize drinks and other activities for students and employees.
- The KallioPPE board room: a place where board members of PPE's study association have meetings and plan events for the community.
- The PPE Study area. This is a silent study area where PPE students can prepare for their courses or study for their exams. Only PPE students and staff have access to this area. PPE’s core staff (the Dean, coordinators, junior lecturers, and support staff) all have their offices here as well.
