This is a practice course for researchers who want to work on presenting Academic English in a spoken context. Students will learn and practice techniques in order to improve their clarity, comprehensibility and confidence while speaking Academic English.
The course focuses on effective structural and storytelling techniques to create the maximum impact for various presentation types. In addition, the course discusses linguistic (vocabulary, articulation, pronunciation) and paralinguistic (pace, inflection, pausing) elements in spoken English. Students will practice using their own topics and materials to improve their abilities to communicate effectively in international academic English.
