High Performance Distributed Computing

We study programming environments for large-scale distributed systems, hand in hand with current technology and real-world applications.

Technology has changed from clusters to grids, clouds, hybrid systems, mobile systems, sensors, and Internet-of-Things. Applications included search algorithms, model checking, multimedia, semantic web, bioinformatics, astronomy, climate modelling, digital forensics, e-health, and machine learning. The current focus is on efficient deep learning, large-scale distributed reasoning, many-core accelerators, and distributed sensor applications for smartphones and IoT.
