Humanities Lab

Within the faculty’s Research Office, the HumanitiesLab specializes in research software and research data management. The aim of the lab is to offer support to researchers of the Faculty of Humanities with regard to the development, (re-)use, storage, and sharing of research software and datasets.

The lab currently consists of a research software engineer, Sophie Arnoult, and a data steward, Sam Heijnen. For more information, see the following pages:

Besides supporting researchers, the HumanitiesLab aims at stimulating the sharing of software and datasets with researchers and students, both within and outside the faculty. Sharing software and data is in fact a tenet of Open Science, fostering collaboration between researchers, while also being a common prerequisite for grants from, e.g., NWO, ERC or ZonMW. By registering their software and datasets, researchers further facilitate the reuse of their research production, while strengthening their research profile.
