Uploading your thesis

Is your thesis ready and approved? Then post it in SURFsharekit, VU's thesis archive. Your thesis will be stored by the VU for 7 years. Theses in SURFsharekit can only be viewed by support staff of the faculties' education offices. Faculties can use the theses for educational reviews. After 7 years, theses are destroyed.

Uploading your thesis in seven steps

  1. Convert your entire thesis into a single PDF file. Please note: the file size of your thesis may not exceed 500 MB.
  2. Go to https://surfsharekit.nl/ and log in using your VUnetID.
  3. Open your Profile and enter your student number under <Institution ID>.
  4. Select 'new publication' > 'Thesis or internship report'.
  5. Upload your thesis.
  6. Fill in the mandatory fields (indicated by an asterisk) and as many optional fields as possible.
  7. Save your thesis using the 'submit' button. Once your thesis has been uploaded successfully, you'll see a pop-up screen appear.
