Sample Art on the Zuidas

With the exhibition 'Natural Technology. Welcome to the Symbiocene' in VU ART SCIENCE gallery, the University Library took part in SAMPLE ART ON THE ZUIDAS. This was an art walk for the public along various exhibitions in the VU area.

As a guest at the Zuidas, the Bijbels Museum took the initiative and, alongside the VU, also invited ABN AMRO and AkzoNobel to join forces for this special art initiative that took place for the first time at the Zuidas in May and June 2022.

Amsterdam Zuidas is less known for its art, while the international art collections of these institutions are among the most prominent in the Netherlands. Especially for this art walk, they organised a welcoming reception on six consecutive Fridays, 20 and 27 May, 3, 10, 17 and 24 June. At these locations, tour guides or hosts were on hand or there will be exhibition booklets to explain the exhibitions.

Stop by the various venues and immerse yourself in the exciting cross-pollination between art and science at the VU ART SCIENCE gallery, experience the spiritual power of Annita Smit's monumental paper sculptures at CIRCL; discover young talent alongside international masterpieces at the ABN AMRO Art Space and be seduced by countless portraits at the AkzoNobel Art Space; enEntree, guided tours and exhibition booklets were free of charge, reservations were not needed. Catering facilities were also available at most locations.
