ChatGPT and other AI tools are in the spotlight. Curricula are being adapted to be “ChatGPT-proof,” and we are being flooded with AI tools. These are not only useful, but also raise questions about ethics and the consequences for student learning.
In this workshop you will work with various AI tools that can be used in literature research, such as ChatGPT, Elicit, Perplexity, Semantic Scholar and SciSpace. You will learn how you and your students can use these tools effectively, and there will be room for discussion about the benefits and risks of using them.
After completing this workshop:
- you are able to apply various AI tools in searching for literature and research materials
- you can formulate prompts effectively to obtain the right information
- you can make a well-considered assessment of the ethical use of AI tools in education
The workshop consists of a demonstration, a number of practical exercises and a discussion about the possibilities and risks of AI tools.
