Scholarship applications

Graduated from VU Amsterdam, and planning to pursue further education or research abroad? You may be eligible for a scholarship.

VSBfonds Scholarship

If after completing your studies at VU Amsterdam you are going to do a full Master's programme abroad or research (other than a PhD) at a foreign higher education institution, you may apply for a VSBfonds Scholarship (maximum 10,000 euros). Deadline is 1 March 2023. 

For this application round, your graduation date must be between 1 March 2021 and December 31, 2023. And the start of your follow-up study or research abroad should fall between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024. Students graduating from AUC may also apply if tuition has been paid to VU Amsterdam.

Prins Bernard Cultuurfonds

Talented university graduates (MA) from all disciplines may be eligible for a scholarship from Prince Bernard Cultuurfonds to move forward towards a future as a scientist. These scholarships are intended for advanced studies abroad with a minimum duration of one year - leading to a second Master's degree or a related degree - or for advanced research abroad with a minimum duration of three months. EU Programme

The European University Institute (EUI San Domenico di Fiesole, Florence, Italy) is an international institution for doctoral education and research. The doctoral programme prepares researchers to write and defend a thesis. 

The teaching and research programme consists of four disciplines:

  • culture
  • economics
  • law
  • political and social sciences
