Make use of the alumni network

More than 150.000 people of various ages, all around the world: together they make up our VU alumni community. Maybe it hasn’t come to your attention before, but it actually pays to take advantage of the many opportunities within this extensive, international network.

Discover the benefits of this network

Find familiar faces and share experiences with fellow professionals, make new contacts in the area where you live or work, or get invited to special events. Just for fun, to exchange experiences, or to keep up to date with the latest developments. Perhaps you are seeking the answer to a particular question, or looking for a different workplace or new colleague. Maybe you have a great idea that you would like to work on with others. The alumni network is here for you.

Connect directly with other alumni

Most faculties have specific associations and online communities (LinkedIn-groups). Great places for you to connect directly with alumni from your own study background or also working in the same area as you. 

On LinkedIn you will find more than 80 groups in total for VU alumni, organized by field of study, subject, graduation year, and living region. 

Go to LinkedIn, type your keyword plus the search terms ‘alumni’ and ‘Vrije Universiteit’ (or ‘VU’) in the top left search field, then select ‘groups’ category in the search results screen.
