On September 12th, a group of PPE alumni hosted a Lustrum Reunion for the class of 2021 at the 4th floor of the VU. For many, it was their first time back on the 4th floor (or even back in Amsterdam) since graduation, creating many nostalgic feelings.
The day kicked off with a welcome reception, where alumni caught up over coffee. Standing around the coffee machines and seeing the study area again, was a great deja-vu moment for many. Afterwards, everyone gathered in the Adam Smith Room, where Dean Roland Luttens gave an opening speech and shared the developments from the past five years of PPE, followed by KallioPPE Chair Carla Andres Senante providing the alumni a glimpse into current student life. After, the alumni did a quiz to get to know more about each other's lives after graduation.
The highlight of the event was a classic PPE-style debate. A panel featuring the current dean and PPE founding Dean Martin van Hees discussed with the alumni the most important international, political and labor market developments of the past five years. After a full day of events, everyone headed to a café in De Pijp for drinks, celebrating the five years that passed since graduating PPE.
It was wonderful to see everyone back on the 4th floor! A big thank you to the alumni who attended and the organizers who made it happen.
