Nynke Swart is a postdoctoral researcher in physiotherapy and implementation research, with a particular focus on musculoskeletal disorders. She is affiliated with the Musculoskeletal Research Section of the Department of Health Sciences (VU University). In addition, she holds a postdoctoral position in clinical guideline development at the Amsterdam University Medical Centre.
She began her career as a physiotherapist, working in various clinical settings. She later completed a Master of Science at the Faculty of Clinical Health Sciences from Utrecht University, specializing in Physiotherapy Science. In 2019, she obtained her PhD at the Erasmus MC Department of General Practice, where she conducted a multicenter randomized controlled trial on the efficacy of Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging after referral by the general practitioner in patients with traumatic knee complaints.
Following her PhD, she spent six years at the Royal Dutch Society for Physical Therapy, working as a policy advisor and clinical guideline developer. After this period, she returned to academia to continue her work as a researcher.
