Marco van Gelderen is Associate professor at the department of Management and Organisation at VU Amsterdam. He is a psychologist specializing in enterprising behavior. Marco is currently editor of the learning innovation section of the Entrepreneurship Education & Pedagogy journal. Furthermore, he is an editorial board member of the Journal of Business Venturing and of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.

Marco focuses his research as well as his teaching activities on individual level enterprising competencies. Examples of such competencies are generating ideas for opportunities, taking action, perseverance, networking, teamwork, and persuasion.
