Lisa van Reemst is Universitair Docent bij de criminologie-afdeling van de Faculteit Rechtsgeleerdheid van de Vrije Universiteit (VU). Lisa ontving haar Masterdiploma in de Sociale Psychologie (cum laude, 2010) bij de Universiteit Utrecht. Ze werkte bij de Universiteit Utrecht voordat ze startte als onderzoeker en docent bij de criminologie-afdeling van de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam in 2011. In maart 2020 promoveerde zij bij de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. Lisa startte bij de VU in 2021. Haar expertises zijn slachtofferschap en werk, waaronder agressie tegen medewerkers en het inzetten van slacthofferschap in werk (ervaringsdeskundigheid), en het verklaren van slachtofferschap, inclusief herhaald slachtofferschap.

Lisa van Reemst is Assistant Professor at the Criminology department, Faculty of Law of VU Amsterdam. Lisa obtained her Master of Science degree in Social Psychology (cum laude, 2010) at Utrecht University. She worked at Utrecht University, before starting as a researcher and lecturer at the Criminology department of the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2011. In March 2020, she obtained her PhD degree at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Lisa started working for VU Amsterdam in 2021. Her expertise is victimization and work, among which aggression against employees and experiential expertise, and explaining victimization, including repeat victimization.

Research

Dutch:

Lisa van Reemst heeft haar proefschrift geschreven over agressie tegen hulpverleners (politie, brandweer en ambulance) en op dit thema is zij nog regelmatig actief. Hierbij kijkt zij regelmatig naar kenmerken van de hulpverleners, maar ook naar interacties tussen burgers en medewerkers. Ook meer algemeen is zij geïnteresseerd in slachtofferkenmerken en het verklaren van slachtofferschap, regelmatig aan de hand van psychologische kenmerken. Ook herhaald slachtofferschap valt binnen haar onderzoeksinteresses. Lisa van Reemst voert ook onderzoek uit naar ervaringsdeskundigheid in het slachtofferwerkveld. Zij is bovendien geïnteresseerd naar offline en online processen bij slachtofferschap en daderschap.

Lisa van Reemst wrote her doctoral thesis on aggression directed toward emergency responders (police, fire, and ambulance services). This is a topic in which she remains actively involved. Her work frequently examines the characteristics of those targeted, as well as the interactions between citizens and emergency personnel. More broadly, she is interested in victim characteristics and the factors that explain victimization, often focusing on psychological traits. Her research interests also encompass the concept of repeat victimization. Furthermore, Lisa van Reemst conducts research on the role of experiential expertise (lived experience) within the field of victim support. She also maintains an interest in the offline and online processes associated with both victimization and offending.

Lisa van Reemst is hoorcollegedocent en vakcoördinator van cursussen in de Bachelor Criminologie aan de VU, gericht op slachtofferschap, statistiek en psychologische verklaringen voor criminaliteit. Daarnaast is zij voorzitter van de opleidingscommissie van de Bachelor Criminologie. Ze begeleidt bovendien theses in de Master Criminologie. Zij is in het bezit van bijvoorbeeld de Senior Kwalificatie Onderwijs (SKO) en Senior Kwalificatie Examinering (SKE). Eerder was zij hoorcollegedocent en vakcoördinator in de Law and Society Bachelor en bij de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, waar zij ook het vaardighedenonderwijs coördineerde.

Lisa van Reemst is a lecturer and course coordinator of courses in the Bachelor of Criminology at the VU, focusing on victimization, statistics and psychological explanations of crime. In addition, she is the chair of the program committee of the Bachelor of Criminology. She supervises Master theses in the Master of Criminology. She holds, for example, the Senior Teaching Qualification (STQ) and Senior Examination Qualification (SEQ). Previously, she was a lecturer and course coordinator in the Law and Society Bachelor and at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she also coordinated the research skills programme.
