Personal information

Jacco Wielhouwer is professor of economics of accounting and tax at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (since 2013). He studied Econometrics (OR) at Tilburg University at which he got his PhD in Operations Research (2002). 

Next to parttime academic activities, he held several senior (management) positions in financial industry (ING) and financial regulation (AFM).

Research

His research focusses on taxation and investments, disclosure, and compliance and enforcement of regulations. 

Investment incentives; R&D investments; disclosure strategies; economics and benefits of (financial) regulation; tax compliance; trust in financial markets and supervisory strategies; compliance, enforcement, and regulation.
