After completing a bacherlor's degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the VU, Jesse went on to do a master's in Economics and a master's in Public Administration, specializing in AI and digital governance. Before starting as a PhD candidate, Jesse briefly worked for a policy research company.

Jesse Ruwette is a PhD candidate in Public Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on public values and the use of artificial intelligence in public governance. Through a mixed-methods approach, the project explores how public actors deal with public value conflicts. The PhD project is part of the consortium AI4ALL: Value-Aligned AI in Public Organizations, which is funded by NWO.
