Personal information

I am a graduate of Cyber Security from the European Institute of Technology (EIT) with a double degree from the University of Trento (IT) and the University of Rennes 1 (FR). Besides my technical background, I have a minor in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (NL) doing research about cloud and microservices security. I thrive in dynamic and international environments and can work well autonomously as well as in teams.

Research

My research is about cloud, microservices, and container security. In particular, I am interested in the security implications of networking and permissions (e.g., AppArmor and Seccomp) within containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes and Docker), as well as related to Infrastructure-as-Code solutions (e.g., Vagrant and Terraform). My research aims to unveil vulnerabilities and misconfigurations within these environments at scale, and automatically suggest safer configurations to users for improving the security posture of such environments. Although detecting vulnerabilities in the cloud has been largely investigated, I believe that the field of automatically suggesting and implementing fixes is an interesting research direction that did not receive enough attention yet.

Teaching

I am a teaching assistant for the Data Structures and Algorithm course for the Computer Science Bachelor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

For this course, I contributed to the design and deployment of the DomJUDGE open source application to evaluate student assignments, which has been deployed on the Google Cloud Platform.
