Personal information

Bart van den Hooff is Professor of Organizational Communication and Information Systems. He has a PhD (with honors) in Communication from the University of Amsterdam. Before coming to the Vrije Universiteit, he worked in consultancy (M&I/Partners), at the Delft University of Technology and the University of Amsterdam. His work has been presented at international conferences and published in (among others) MIS Quarterly, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Communication Research, and Human Communication Research.

Research

His research focuses on the management of IT for digital innovation. Subjects of interest are managing and organizing the IT function, IS development and implementation, IS complexity, and Business-IT alignment.

Teaching

Bart van den Hooff is programme director of the master Digital Business and Innovation (DBI). In addition he teaches the following courses:
