Aniek Woodward is a global health researcher with expertise in health systems research, qualitative and transdisciplinary methods, refugee mental health, nature-based interventions, and scaling up health innovations. She seeks to deepen knowledge and drive innovation at the intersections of mental health, nature, equity, and climate change.
As a Postdoctoral researcher at the Athena Institute, VU Amsterdam, she works on the NATURELAB project that seeks to advance knowledge on the effectiveness and scalability of nature-based interventions in Portugal, Germany, Greece, Peru and the Netherlands. Additionally, since mid-2025 she works as a Relatiemanager for A Rocha, a non-profit organisation, where she supports and empowers individuals and organisations in climate transitioning.
Previously Aniek has been working as a consultant on various research projects, including for KIT Royal Tropical Institute, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, King’s College London, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and the World Health Organization.
