Er waren in Zaal 1 van het NU-gebouw drie prijzen te winnen. De nummers één en twee kregen een prijs op basis van de scores van de jury, bestaande uit Frederike Schmitz (Programme Leader Citizen Science & Societal Engagement, Open Science NL), Päivi Reckman (Board Member VU Vereniging), en Davide Ianuzzi (VU Chief Impact Officer and Vice Dean for Research, Faculty of Science VU). Daarnaast was er nog een publieksprijs. Ceremoniemeester Wouter Buursma praatte de avond mooi aan elkaar. De winnaar van vorig jaar Karlijn Kooijman was ook aanwezig, en heeft tijdens het tellen van de stemmen haar ervaringen met het publiek gedeeld.
Twee winnaars, drie prijzen
De eerste prijs ging naar Julia Beets, met haar presentatie “Small changes, Big consequences: Building life one brick at a time.” sleepte zij maar liefst twee prijzen in de wacht, zowel de eerste prijs als de publieksprijs.
De tweede prijs ging naar Eva J.E. de Bock, met “Monthly torture: uncovering adenomyosis using microbubbles.”.

- Francesco Persico, Department of Educational and Family Studies (Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences): “The First Bonds That Shape Us.”
- Eva J.E. de Bock, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Amsterdam Reproduction and Development Research Institute (Amsterdam UMC): “Monthly torture: uncovering adenomyosis using microbubbles.”
