Programme committees Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences

Last updated on 15 May 2024
Each programme of the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences (FBMS) has its own programme committee (OLC). An OLC is a participation body that advises on the quality of education.

By law, every study programme has a study programme committee (OLC) that advises the Faculty Board and the study programme management on all subjects related to the education of that study programme. This includes the design and content of subjects, the teaching and testing quality, the timetable structure, changes to the curriculum and the teaching evaluations. Sometimes it is also possible that the study programme committee responds to complaints from students or to issues that they experience themselves, for example when there are too few seats in a room.

The student OLC members and lecturer members are appointed by the Faculty Board, on the recommendation of the FSR resp. the programme management.

A study programme committee meets at least four times a year. Reading documents, discussing preliminary and subsequent discussions with fellow board members, writing advice and attending meetings outside the faculty takes approximately one day a month. This will give you a lot of experience and you will get to know the training from a completely different side. It is also possible to expand your employee participation qualities through courses.

Good practices can be found on www.opleidingscommissies.nl, a site initiated by the inspectorate and which is now being continued by the student organizations. The site contains a lot of useful information for training committees, including example schedules, training documents, ways to reach the supporters, legal information, information about upcoming meetings.
