Bachelor
Do you need to pass one last component of your programme to complete your Bachelor?
You can apply for an extra exam opportunity (see Teaching and Examination Regulations article 3.5 sub 4) for your Bachelor if:
- You participated in the regular examination offered in the designated academic years (unless this was not possible due to extenuating circumstance), and
- The subject in question is the last course required to complete your Bachelor's programme, and
- The subject is examined with a scheduled written exam, a paper or a take-home exam, and
- Your next exam opportunity is untimely, leading to a significant study delay, or re-enrolment in the programme.
Courses that are examined differently, e.g. a practical skills component or a Bachelor thesis, are excluded from the extra exam regulation.
Students should apply for the extra exam opportunity, only if they have completed all other courses including their thesis. The deadline for extra exam requests is 1 July.
If you complete all courses after 1 July, you may still submit a request. However, it may not be possible your to arrange for the extra exam opportunity before the new academic year, due to the summer vacation and or high volume of requests to the Examination Board in that period. Therefore we advise you to re-enrol in your Bachelor's programme, just to be safe.
The Examination Board will do its best to process your request as soon as possible, after which you can make arrangements for your extra exam with your lecturer.
Requests that do not meet the terms and conditions for an extra exam opportunity will be rejected.
