A large part of the collection can be consulted digitally at home. At the University Library in the main building of VU, 75 quiet places are currently available for students who cannot study at home due to circumstances. More information can be found on the website about the services of the University Library. Information about other facilities can be found on VUweb.

Canvas gives you access to the digital learning environment of the VU. Canvas can also be reached via VUweb. You can log in to both sites with your VU-ID.
On your VUweb dashboard you will see information that is especially intended for you. The messages you see are tailored to your study program and the courses you are taking. You log in to vuweb.vu.nl with your VU-ID. On VUweb you will find notices and e-mails that you should not miss. We therefore recommend that you read your e-mail, the VU announcements and the Blackboard announcements every day in VUweb. That way you never miss an important deadline or notification.
As a student of the VU you will receive your own email account at the start of your studies. Via this e-mail account, the university and your faculty transmit important announcements such as:
- the dropout of lectures,
- information meetings,
- the internship offer and other relevant information.
In short: It is therefore important that you check your mail regularly!
You can consult your mail via the internet (webmail). This can be done both on campus and outside it via: https://webmail.vu.nl.
New VU students will receive a letter at the start of the new academic year with their personal VU-ID and password. With this you can log in to webmail to check your mail.
