Richard and Nori: a successful 'VU pair'

In the fall of 2007, Nori, who was studying Public Administration and Organization Sciences, took a course in Knowledge Management within the Business Administration program. One of the students she met there was Richard.

When groups needed to be formed for an assignment Nori joined Richard and his friends. While the other two students had reservations - Nori was an "outsider," after all - Richard was happy to be working with this cheerful girl.

After finishing the course, following a pleasant collaboration, they became friends on Hyves. Yet things didn't move beyond that online connection: their ways parted again. Richard studied in Italy for a while and Nori started her Master's degree.

A year and a half later, in May 2009, Nori suddenly received a message from Richard via Hyves: how was she doing? She had to think for a moment who this charming boy was. Following some contact back and forth, they planned an encounter which quickly turned into a love adventure. This involved a lot of traveling in their early days together, to America, Canada and Curacao, among other places.

In 2010 they moved in together, in 2014 they bought their first house and now they are a happy family together with their four-year-old son and two-year-old daughter. Richard works as an accountant at BDO and Nori, following previous jobs in higher education, started her own tutoring company five years ago. With very fond feelings, they look back on their studies and their emerging love at VU Amsterdam. In short, a great 'VU pair'!
