Nel de Jong is the coordinator of ALP Nederlands, and teaches and coordinates various workshops and courses on academic Dutch. She is also a teacher trainer at VU-NT2, where she teaches in various teacher training programmes for Dutch as a second language. In addition to her work at VU Amsterdam, she is a member of the NT2 State Examination Committee. Nel studied Applied Linguistics at VU Amsterdam and obtained her PhD at the University of Amsterdam. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Pittsburgh and an assistant professor at Queens College of CUNY.
