I am pursuing my master's in consumer experience management at ESPM Rio, Brazil. I joined the 2021's online class, and even in a scenario of uncertainty regarding the pandemic, I was awarded with the Academic Excellence Scholarship. I am very grateful for that, because it allowed me to improve my international background in ways I could have never imagined before. Moreover, this course has made me more than a different professional: I am a changed person too. Also, this journey was fully supported by the incredible Summer School team, which provided me with the best experience, and I felt a little bit of Amsterdam from home. I had a lot of fun exchanging perspectives with engaging people from all over the world (Belgium, Turkey, India…) and joining multiple extracurricular tours and games, which, if you are a curious, culture-loving person like me, is everything you could wish for.
Regarding my specific course, I enrolled for the hands-on anthropology and ethnographic Storytelling program. I decided to take this course to expand my horizons in a subject that I was introduced to during college and got it my attention since then. That was one of the best choices I have ever made in my academic life! The course, as the name says, is very practical and provided me with the opportunity to practice my creative and observational writing through my own experiences and reflections. Professor Younes is a very competent professional and his availability to help the students throughout the program exceeded my expectations. During those two weeks, the students were able to get in touch with a lot of interesting professionals from the field and to explore unique perspectives through senses, which contributed and made this experience more complete. I would recommend it to everyone that is genuinely curious about the environments in your surroundings and the ways /tools of creative writing.
