Lethícia Bellão
Jr. Brand Manager Home Care EU at Unilever

I was a Brazilian looking for a career switch (I did my bachelor’s in chemical engineering) and the MSc Marketing programme at VU Amsterdam had me with open arms. I am passionate about the consumer, so the best memories are doing the projects with my teams, learnings how to collect analyse and act on their behaviours, I’m so glad I made friends out of these teammates.

How has the MSc Marketing at Vrije Universiteit contributed to your professional growth?

The VU gave me the tools I needed to present a new point of view on my Job, the understanding of the steps to follow in a marketing problem solving and the contact with different sides of marketing so I could pursue my favourites.

Can you share any specific skills or knowledge acquired during the program that have proven beneficial in your career?

Learning how to translate what a consumer thinks and fells to an action in your brand was one of the most valuable skills. People are my passion, so being able to transform their lives is a super power I want to master.

What kind of work do you do now? Can you explain what your current position entails?

Currently I work with brand management for a Multinational company in the European level, so my team and I create, manage and implement innovations that were identified as needs of the European consumers.

When did you know you wanted to pursue this career?

During my master at the VU for sure! The opportunity to choose personalized courses allowed me to try different areas of marketing and pursue the ones that spoke closer to my heart.

Why do you enjoy this line of work? What energizes you about it?

I love seeing the impact of what I do in so many different countries, specially concerning bringing innovations that resonate better to the consumer and tracking their success. Brang management is so big and it goes to the concept creation until the campaigns assets to let the world know what’s coming.
