It was during my studies that I got interested in the tech scene in and around Amsterdam. An internship at an innovation advisory company has opened the doors to a job as an innovation consultant. Inspired by all the interesting startups I was working with, I co-founded a charity and a tech startup, both during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown.
At the moment, I work as a product manager at a tech scale-up in Amsterdam. A career that, as it turns out, matches quite perfectly with the skills of a social psychologist. As a product manager, I get to do customer and market research and build software based on those results, in a fast-paced environment. It is not a career path that I had envisioned for myself at the start of my studies. But interests change, and I have learned that you don’t have to stay in one industry to make an impact
