I chose this course because generative AI is rapidly transforming how software is built and how businesses operate. In my role as a Solution Engineer, I work at the intersection of technology and business strategy, and I wanted to move beyond the hype to gain a deeper, more practical understanding of how generative AI works. The program at VU offered a structured approach to understanding the technology, its real-world applications, and its broader implications for organizations.
What stood out to me most was the strong balance between conceptual foundations and hands-on application. The course went beyond theory, focusing on how generative AI can be implemented in concrete business contexts, while also addressing important topics such as limitations, responsible AI, and the impact on organizational workflows. I apply many of these insights directly in my work when designing AI-powered demos and customer solutions. For example, I recently built an AI-driven workflow in which an agent analyses an address, converts it into coordinates via an API, and automatically identifies nearby accounts in Salesforce.
The course helped me think more clearly about structuring AI use cases, understanding how prompts and data context influence outcomes, and integrating AI into end-to-end business workflows rather than using it as a standalone tool. The practical perspective on AI system architecture and responsible adoption was especially valuable. I would highly recommend this course to professionals who want to move beyond simply using AI tools and instead understand how generative AI can be applied effectively in real business scenarios. My advice to future participants is to actively connect the course material to their own projects and experiment with different AI tools, as this hands-on approach greatly deepens understanding.
